Below are a number of links to resources I have found that helped me learn and enhanced my skills:

This YouTube Channel really got me started with making kimonos. His videos are step-by-step, detailed and very precise. Of special interest is his guide to choosing fabrics for making kimonos and yukatas: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvpcdYOpLlo. There is a companion Etsy page where he sells pdf instructions and patterns. I made my first yukata just following along with the videos, but I’ve since purchased many of his pattern/manuals and they’re amazing and well worth the money: https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/TheHouseOfKimono - https://www.youtube.com/@BillyMatsunaga
Billy Matsunaga is a professional kimono dresser, but she also does a lot of sewing and many of her videos give instructions for how to create garments from start to finish. Her video on making a haori was of particular help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jeiqZtmYOs - https://www.youtube.com/@bernadettebanner
Bernadette Banner doesn’t sew kimonos. She specialises in hand-made period garments. But her hand sewing techniques are of particular interest. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39C_oYPgTpY - https://www.youtube.com/@wkimono
Wakamo Kimono Lab focuses primarily on Japanese garments for men. The videos are mostly in Japanese, but the steps are clear enough to follow along once you have the fundamentals under your belt. - https://www.youtube.com/@vincentbriggs1780/videos
Vincent Briggs focuses on Pre-20th century European garments for the most part, but his skill for construction and hand-sewing is a really great reference. He also has a blog here: https://vincentbriggs.blogspot.com. - https://www.youtube.com/@nami-wasai/videos
Nami Wasai is a certified kimono seamstress. Her videos are in Japanese, but they have very good English subtitles and she teaches kimono sewing techniques, including one of the best unshin tutorials I’ve found.
